Please join us for the May meeting of the Capital of Texas Postcard Club, Tuesday, May 7th at the South Austin Senior Activity Center, 3911 Manchaca Rd., 78704, 7:00-9:00.

"Longtime CTXPC club member Richard Eisenhour was asked by the Austin Women's Club to present a 20-minute history of the picture postcard.  Only twenty minutes???  (Only twenty minutes!)  Richard accepted the challenge and decided to call the lecture--"The World's Briefest and Most Exciting History of the Picture Postcard."  The Women's Club has scheduled Richard to speak in mid-May but Richard wants to preview his talk for us at our May 7th club meeting.  Involving a good deal of humor, Richard's talk focuses on the International "golden age" of postcards, 1898-1918.  He welcomes his fellow CTXPC clubmembers' suggestions regarding changes and improvements that might enhance the lecture's accuracy and permit him to remain within the time constraint. "

Refreshments are potluck style so bring what you like and what you can! The Club will provide drinks.

We expect that a number of dealers will be able to bring some boxes of postcards to this meeting to browse through, and you, too, are invited to bring along any postcards that you would like to sell, trade, or show-and-tell.
